How to Be A Teacher's Pet
No student really ever wants to be labeled a "goody- goody," but deep
down inside, all of us want to succeed in school, get good grades, and
make a good impression on our teachers. Here are a few simple and easy
steps to get you headed in that direction.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy

down inside, all of us want to succeed in school, get good grades, and
make a good impression on our teachers. Here are a few simple and easy
steps to get you headed in that direction.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
a good attitude
an open mind to learn new things
a bright smile
good/ above- average manners
homework and class work as assigned by your teacher(s)
Step 1
HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
Always
believe that you CAN make good grades, therefore you WILL make good
grades. Always believe that your teacher is doing her best so that you
will learn what you need to. Help others in your class to have the same
positive attitude as you have by setting a good example.
Step 2
PAY ATTENTION AND PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIVITIES.
Don't
just sit in your seat and watch the minutes tick away on the clock.
Take an active role in class discussions and try to develop a sincere
interest in what the teacher is instructing the class in. Raise your
hand (I know this can be extremely difficult for some of you-- I was
painfully shy as a child!) and answer questions in a polite manner.
Don't go overboard and try to answer EVERY one- give others a chance.
Be the first to volunteer when your teacher asks for volunteers.
Believe me, this goes a long way in getting on your teacher's good side.
Step 3
DO YOUR CLASS WORK AND HOMEWORK AS ASSIGNED.
Class
work and homework count towards your entire class grade. If you don't
do your work, even if you make a 100 on a test, your class grade as a
whole will be lowered. Besides, this will make your teacher feel bad.
They will feel as if they are not helping you because you are
disinterested and not doing your work.
Step 4
STUDY, STUDY, AND STUDY.
"Repetition
is the key to retention." If you want to make A's on tests and impress
your teacher, memorize the notes that will be on your test by repeating
them over and over to yourself, until you can recite them by heart. It
helps to have background noise (such as a radio set on low, and not a
TV). Studies have shown this helps you to concentrate better. As far as
Math is concerned, write out problems already done in your past
homework or class work and re- work them to help you get it down- pat
in your mind.
Step 5
EXTRA CREDIT.
Ask
your teacher to let you do extra credit. It never has hurt any
student's grades before, and it certainly can't hurt yours now.
Step 6
BE KIND TO YOUR CLASSROOM.
Never
draw or doodle on your desk, as this shows a serious lack of respect
for another person's property that doesn't belong to you. Instead, be
just the opposite. Take an interest in keeping your work area clean,
and ask the teacher if there is anything that you can help her with,
such as erasing the chalkboard, passing out or picking up papers,
emptying the trash, well, you get the picture. Remember, you can be a
positive role model to others in your class AND score points with your
teacher by setting a good example. Don't try to be a big shot and toot
your own horn because your teacher will be see right through this and
view you as "fake."
Step 7
ALWAYS BEHAVE.
Whether
it is in the class or on a field trip, always be on your best behavior.
Good conduct goes a long way in your teacher's eyes, and it will
definitely make your parents proud!
